So I use a mac.
Well… Productive Macs has all 3 of these apps, PLUS a bunch more for only $29 in their Productive Macs Bundle.
My favorite out of the whole lot is easily TextExpander. I use that thing all the time.
Here’s an example… I have domain that is rather long but that I type all the time. With Text Expander, I type a few characters like ,,url and that expands to http://www.christopherobrien.net (For those of you who are trying to do the math, that is typing 5 characters instead of 34!)
And that is just the beginning of what it can do. It gets even crazier when you start applying more advanced stuff like scripting or fill-in forms. I personally have just begun using the fill-in forms, but Brett Terpstra has got this stuff down to a science and has really helped me jump into the world of scripts.
Path Finder is a full-fledged replacement for Finder. It is basically what Apple should have made when they made Finder. And quite honestly, I think the only reason Apple hasn’t snatched this app up and made it their own is because they are trying to hide the file system. With things like iCloud, I think they don’t want future users to even know or care where their files are saved.
But anyway, Path Finder has a whole ton of power when it comes to file management. My favorite feature is the drop stack, where you can grab files and drop them on a little icon. Then once you have all the files you want, you can move them all at once to what ever location you desire. So easy.
